
Kohima, May 9 (MExN): The Kohima Chamber of Commerce & Industries (KCCI) reiterated its stand on the trade license renewal free and the sanitation fee introduced by the Kohima Municipal Council.
Since long back the members of the KCCI has been paying trade license fee to the competent authority and this fee is known to include the sanitation fee.
Recently, the KMC has issued direction to all the traders that a separate sanitation fee has to be paid and to add to this a hike of 15% in the trade license fee had also been made, a release received here said today.
The KCCI has in this regard expressed its solidarity with the KMC considering the necessity for proper sanitation with the assurance that the sanitation fee would be paid. However, the KCCI has requested the KMC to repeal the 15% hike in the trade license fee. As such the KCCI hereby once again informed all its members not to pay the trade license fee until the issue is resolved.
Secondly, the stand of the KCCI on total Sunday closer would be strictly enforced, the release said adding that the rest deserved by the employees and the employees should be given top priority to ensure that the other six days of the week are non strenuous and all are hale and hearty to serve the consumers.
