Dimapur, June 2 (MExN): The Nagaland State Entrepreneurs Associates Thrift and Credit Cooperatives Federation Ltd (EATACOL) vehemently condemn the dastardly assassination attempt on the precious life of the respected senior citizen Imtila Jamir, former Registrar, Department of cooperative societies on May 27, 2011 at 7.30 pm in her kitchen by ‘Worshim Thangkhul and his accomplice’ with the intent to extort and kill.
A press note issued by Tiatemsu Longchar, chairman and Neichute Doulo,Managing Director EATACOL requested both the over-ground and under-ground governments to immediately apprehend the culprits as the identity is established and deliver speedy justice. “We also appeal to every Naga, every national worker and every citizen of Nagaland to be vigilant against criminals who come in the guise of national workers extorting and killing people. Such criminals have defamed and destroyed the sacrifices and image of the Naga National workers. And more than the citizens, it does demand the immediate action of the national workers to curb and eradicate such systematic occurrences in the interest of not only nation building but for the sake of protecting the sanctity and image of the National service. A Nation can not be built with criminals going unpunished,” stated the note.
Stating the incident as a heinous criminal act, EATACOL said, “When our women folks are no more safe even in the premises of our own homes and kitchen, there is no other place on earth where our women folk can be safe and feel protected. If criminals can just barge into homes and demand money and having failed to extract extorted money, shooting to kill is not only ghastly and horrendous, but beastly. Tragically, extortion has become a daily happening. From the market places, it has now reached our very kitchen doors and mothers and women are not even spared. Rather, the criminals seem to be targeting women. This is most unkindly and intolerable. Naga nation must rise above criminals and extortionist.”
EATACOL also said that the victim had the courage and strength to fight the criminals even in the face of her life being threatened and God has lovingly spared her life for Nagas to draw strength and inspiration from her courage and fight and added that had it not being so, we would be today condemning on the monstrous murder with posthumous references.

The officers and staffs of Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Nagaland has condemned the barbaric life attempt made on “Km, M.Imtila Jamir, Retired Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS), Nagaland” on the night of May 27 by a gang of criminals.
The department is deeply shocked and cannot comprehend as to how a crime of this nature can be perpetuated upon a dedicated retired officer who has devoted her entire service career for the upliftment of the common people. The administration and law enforcement agencies should not leave any stone unturned in nabbing these criminals and awarding them befitting punishments. The Department wishes her a speedy recovery and renewed spirit in fulfilling the goals that are ahead of her, stated a press note isued by T. Imkonglemla Longkumer, Registrar of cooperative societies.

The All Nagaland Co-operative Federation (ANCSF) has condemned the crime assassination attempt the life of Imtila Rtd. Registrar Co-operative societies Nagaland at her residence by Worshim Tangkhul and his compliance (cruel Bloody) act to take life of a fair lady is a cowardice act. A press release issued by President ANCSF, R.K Mekro stated that ANCSF is full out against such barbaric motives of killing and asked the authorities to immediately take everything action against the culprit so as to corret the wrong doing for the days to come.
