Maligaon | August 19 (MExN): Train services in the Lumding–Badarpur Hill section continued to be affected for the third consecutive day amid restoration work near New Harangajao station, where railway tracks on Line-1 and Line-2 have settled.
According to the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), train operations through the affected stretch are currently being maintained via Line-3 with enhanced safety measures.
As part of the latest service update, Train No. 15615 (Guwahati–Silchar) Express scheduled to commence on August 20 and Train No. 15616 (Silchar–Guwahati) Express scheduled for August 21 have been cancelled.
Several other trains scheduled for August 20 have been rescheduled. These include Train No. 15650 (Narangi–Agartala) Express, which will depart Narangi at 10:30pm; Train No. 15649 (Agartala–Narangi) Express at 11:30pm; and Train No. 15609 (Guwahati–Sairang) Express at 11:30pm.
Train No. 15610 (Sairang–Guwahati) Express will depart Sairang at 9:30pm, Train No. 15611 (Rangiya–Silchar) Express at 11:30pm, and Train No. 15612 (Silchar–Rangiya) Express at 5:00am on August 21.
Train No. 14619 (Agartala–Firozpur Cantt) Express will depart Agartala at 11:00pm, while Train No. 15608 (Silchar–Thiruvananthapuram Central) Express will depart Silchar at 4:10am on August 21.
Meanwhile, Train No. 12503 (SMVT Bengaluru–Agartala) Express, which commenced its journey on August 18, will be regulated suitably en route.
NFR said restoration work near New Harangajao is continuing, with train operations being managed through the available Line-3 under enhanced safety measures.
