Minister apprises on beautification of Tsumang

Wokha, May 11 (DIPR): The monthly Wokha DPDB meeting was held on May 9 at DC Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Parliamentary Secretary and Chairman DPDB Wokha, W. Kithan, Minister for Agriculture, Dr. Chumben Murry and Deputy Speaker Nagaland, Ralanthung Yanthan also attended the meeting.
The meeting began with the review of the last meeting minutes, with regard to training programme on Office procedures where the chairman requested all the departments to send nomination of one officer and three senior staffs at the earliest for finalization of the training date.
Beautification of Tsumang Lake was again deliberated by the board, where Minister for Agriculture, Dr. Chumben Murry apprised the board that, beautification and development of Tsumang Lake is the wish and interest of the citizens of the district.
Pointing the Lake as a re-creation centre for all, he called for mass involvement of others departments in the district to bring about more development. The board also resolved to request the Fishery Technical Association (FTA) to reconsider their step and withdraw the case with regard to Tsumang Lake.
As a step towards protection and conservation of Mt. Tiyi Forest, Dr. Chumben informed that Forest Protection Committee has been constituted comprising of Village Council Chairman, VDB Secretaries, G.B’s and Students Union Presidents of the adjourning Mt. Tiyi Forest areas.
The Board also discussed on the poor performance/results of HSLC in the district, where the chairman directed the District Education Officer, Wokha and DIO Wokha to explain the precise action plan for 2011-12.
To find a way to improve the results in the district the board resolved to form a committee headed by District Horti Officer (DHO) to study and propose remedial measures in order to bring improvement. The Board also resolved to ban the trend of transferring Teachers along with Post and transfer without replacement in the district.
The chairman expressed his displeasure on the poor attendance by the officers in attending DPDB, where he directed the Deputy Commissioner to take necessary step/ action to increase more participation and cautioned that officers failing to attend meeting consecutively will be reported to Head of Department. a
