Mmhonlumo Kikon appointed NPP General Secretary (Pol)

Kohima, February 27 (MExN): Mmhonlumo Kikon from Nagaland was appointed as the General Secretary (Political) of the National People's Party (NPP).

The appointment has been made with immediate effect by party president in exercise of the powers vested under Article I1 of the NPP Constitution and in furtherance of the objectives, principles and organisational mandate of the Party.

Kikon has been entrusted to continue structured coordination and dialogue with various political parties and stakeholders across the Northeastern states for strategic alignment and consultations towards the realisation of the vision of “One Northeast.” 

He will coordinate with all state presidents and office bearers across the states to review political developments, electoral preparedness, and inter-state organisational matters, to hold regular consultations with all elected Members of Parliament, Members of Legislative Assemblies, and other elected representatives of the Party to ensure policy coherence and political coordination.

He has also been assigned to design and supervise dedicated political programmes, consultations, conventions, and outreach initiatives aimed at enhancing the presence and reach of the Party.

A notification from NPP National President, Conrad K Sangma has directed all the state units and party functionaries to extend full cooperation.
