Naga student 'martyrs' honored in May 6 anniv

Imphal | May 6 : Nagas observed the first anniversary of May 6 Mao Gate incident today in the Manipur-Nagaland border. Large number of people from Manipur and Naga leaders from Nagaland participated in the programme.
 The Naga people observed the first death anniversary of the two students who were killed in the security force firing last year in the Manipur-Nagaland border at Mao Gate under the aegis of the United Naga Council (UNC).
Neli Chakho and Dikho Loshou were killed in the security force firing on May 6 last year at Mao-Gate in the impasse of Muivah proposed visit to his home village. The United Naga Council called the two students as martyrs.
President of Naga Hoho, Keviletuo Kiewhuo unveiled the 'martyrs' epitaph at Mao Gate. Naga Hoho, Naga Student Federation (NSF), Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA), Naga frontal organisations in Manipur, Naga tribes in Manipur, social leaders , dignitaries  from all works of life attended the anniversary.
Mentionably, the United Naga Council (UNC) had few days ago, instructed all the Naga villages to honour the "martyrs" by pronouncing ghena on May 6. Ghena means to abstain from all manual works.
