Nagaland Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla said that the Department of School Education has initiated the implementation of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for six core areas of the school transformation strategy for all the 17 Lighthouse School Complexes (LSCs).
Addressing the eighth session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) in Kohima on March 2, Bhalla said that under Nagaland Education Project-NECTAR, approximately 3,900 teachers comprising subject Presidents/Mentors and Subject Committee Members have been trained through 133 Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) across 10 selected subjects as part of the efforts for the holistic implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020.
The Department of Higher Education, under the Centrally Sponsored PM-USHA scheme, is undertaking infrastructure development in key Government colleges across the State.
The Nagaland Scholarship Nodal Cell, launched on 1st December 2025, will streamline scholarship governance and ensure timely delivery of benefits.
The Guidelines on Coaching Centres, 2025 have also been notified to regulate institutions and safeguard student welfare.
The Department is also implementing NEP 2020 based curriculum focusing on delivering accessible, equitable and quality technical education. Polytechnics have adopted villages aiming to sensitize them about Government schemes and also integrate skills, knowledge for stimulating economic growth and for sustenance.
The upgradation of Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu to Degree college is also making progress and once established it will provide accessibility to youth for technical degree studies within the State, he said.
