The Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland, Yanthungo Patton, was in Goa from to campaign for BJP for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections from May 1 to 3. During his visit, Patton held a series of meetings and public interactions to garner support for Shripad Naik the party candidate from North Goa Constituency, the Media Cell of Dy CMO stated in a press release. He was accompanied by Er Kropol Vitsu, Advisor for Prisons and Printing and Stationery, Government of Nagaland and Rohan Khaunte, Goa Minister for Tourism, IT and Printing and Stationery. Key meetings were held with Goa Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, and state BJP president Sadanand Shet. Patton also participated in door-to-door campaigning with Goa MLA Micheal Lobo and held a road show in Porvorim. The Deputy CM also attended the campaign programme organised by Dallai Lobo, Goa MLA.

A meeting was held at Forest Complex, Kohima on May 3 to review the progress of the inauguration of the Kohima Peace Memorial and Eco-Park. The meeting, chaired by Commissioner & Secretary, Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Y Kikheto Sema, IAS, was attended by nodal officers from various line departments. The discussions focused on the upcoming visit of a Japanese delegation, led by the Japanese Ambassador, scheduled for May 8. The Rotary Club of Dimapur and Kohima organised a free health check up for patient with back bone problem at Hotel Japfu, Kohima on May 3. Dr Neeraj Gupta, senior consultant- spine, surgeon from Indian Spinal Injuries Centre, New Delhi conducted the check up. MLA Dr Tseilhoutuo (Ato) Rhutso also visited the camp and appreciated Rotary Club of Dimapur and Kohima for conducting such programme. Similar free health check up will be conducted on May 4 and 5 at Rotary Club Dimapur. 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on May 4 and 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on May 5. Prior registration is mandatory. This programme is part of “Create Hope in the World.”
