NFR cancels, reschedules trains amid restoration work

Maligaon, August 31 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) on Monday announced fresh adjustments to its train services, including cancellations and rescheduling, in view of ongoing restoration work near New Harangajao station following the settlement of railway tracks on Line-1 and Line-2. 

According to an official release, train operations over the critical Lumding–Badarpur Hill Section are currently being operated via Line-3 with enhanced safety measures in place. 

As part of the revised schedule necessitated by the ongoing engineering work, NFR has notified the following changes:

Cancellations: Train No. 15615 (Guwahati–Silchar) Express, commencing its journey on September 1, 2026, stands cancelled. Train No. 15616 (Silchar–Guwahati) Express, commencing its journey on September 2, 2026, has also been cancelled.

Rescheduling: Train No. 15650 (Narangi–Agartala) Express, commencing its journey on September 1, 2026, has been rescheduled to depart from Narangi at 18:30 hrs. Train No. 15628 (Silchar–Coimbatore) Express, commencing its journey on September 1, 2026, has been rescheduled to depart from Silchar at 22:10 hrs.

Regulation: Train No. 15625 (Deoghar–Agartala) Express, which commenced its journey on August 31, 2026, will be regulated en route suitably.
