NGOs sensitization training conducted on project “Axshya”

Dimapur, June 19 (MExN): Two days NGOs Sensitization training on Project “Axshya” was held from June 15 to 16, 2011 at IDSP Conference Hall, Mokokchung. The training was organized by the Catholic Health Association of India (CHAI) in collaboration with Development Association of Nagaland (DAN) and the RNTCP under Global Fund to Fight for AIDS, TB and Malaria round-IX TB project.
A press note informed that Dr. Chuba, DTO Mokokchung and Imcharen, STS RNTCP were the resource persons for the two days intensive training. NGOs from three district of Mokokchung, Tuensang and Mon and CBOs were present during the training.
The participants were given accommodation at Hotel Savoury near Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital, Mokokchung.
The four mother NGOs from three districts were given clear concept on Project Axshya on Tuberculosis, its treatment, prevention and activities like sputum collection, transportation and retrieval of defaulters cases were thoroughly trained by the RNTCP staff.
More than 20 participants were present during the training. The CHAI MNGOs will be implementing the Project Axshya in three districts of Mokokchung, Tuensang and Mon.
The note also mentioned that representatives from WALO Organization, Turning Point Organization, and Shansham organization from Mon district, Network of Mokokchung People Living with HIV/AIDS (NMP+), Pongener Society, Jiremmen youth Society and Care and Support Society from Mokokchung district and Mt. Geizim DIC, Langtsa DIC, Ke-lomei Centre and Integrated Development Society from Tuensang and CBOs from Gurdian Angel, Grace Society were the participants for this two days sensitization training.
The entire session was supplemented and facilitate by Lejo, Assistant Program Manager, CHAI, Kyupise Sangtam, Peter Patton, district coordinators, CHAI and Manikho, regional Coordinator from CHAI/DAN.
