NNC clarifies on ‘arrest incident of Kiumukam’

Dimapur, April 16 (MExN): The NNC has clarified that the incident where Kiumukam was arrested by the Assam Rifles, happened in April 2010 and not 2009 as mentioned by Kiumukam.
“This incident was forgetfully mentioned 2009 as Kiumukam Yimchungru used to forget usually. In this incident the Assam Rifles (AR) arrested Kiumukam and his colleagues because  of extortion notes in his (Kiumukam) possession. He kept extortion notes (letters) without the knowledge of his colleagues to extort money from the Private Enterprises. But caught by AR and handed over to the South Police Station Kohima. His colleagues were released the very next day because they were innocent but Kiumukam was convicted and put in the Kohima District Jail. This very fact can be verify and ascertain by anyone in South Police Station Kohima even today because all the records and documents are there,” stated a press note issued by one Kevi Angami and one W.Lotha of NNC.
The press note also mentioned that the general Secretary of NNC V.Nagi did everything for Kiumukam’s release from the jail.
