
Dimapur, May 31 (MExN): The Kohima Ao Officers Forum (KAOT) stated that it is pained to learn of the attempt on the life of its former member and ex. General secretary Imtila Jamir, retired registrar, cooperation Nagaland by some miscreants on the night of May 27, 2011 at her residence. A press note issued by the forum stated that it is shocked that fellow Nagas would attack a woman, that also with firearms in her own kitchen, as Nagas are supposed to be brave warriors who do not harm woman and children even though they may be enemies. The KAOT further condemned in the strongest term this inhuman crime on a respectable Naga lady who had served the State and its people with distinction and unquestionable loyalty. “We further urge the law enforcing agencies to leave no stone unturned in their efforts to bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice without delay,” stated the note.
The Mongsenyimti Metsubo Semchir Telongjem (MMST), Mongsenyimti through a press note issued by Meyilemba Jamir, president and Imtisosang Jamir, secretary also stated, that it is shocked and pained on the crime committed to one of our daughter, Ms. Imtila Jamir and strongly condemns such savage and uncivilized act committed by one ‘Mr. Worshim Tangkhul and his accomplice’ on the life of innocent women and therefore urge the law enforcing agencies to act swiftly and nab the accused criminals and award befitting punishment as per the law.
The Dimapur Mongsenyimti Senso Telongjem (DMST) Dimapur also strongly condemned the incident and stated “such devilish act committed against an innocent woman (retired citizen) should be condemned by one and all right thinking citizens and organizations.”
The Association through a press note issued by Lipokyanger, president and L Matoshi Jamir, general secretary stated that it will not remain silent on such an act committed by these criminals and therefore appeals to our respective law enforcing authorities to apprehend the culprits involved and give befitting punishment as per the law.”
The officers and staffs of Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Nagaland also condemns the barbaric life attempt made on M.Imtila Jamir, Retired Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS), Nagaland. The Department stated that it is deeply shocked and cannot comprehend as to how a crime of this nature can be perpetuated upon a dedicated retired officer who has devoted her entire service career for the upliftment of the common people.
“The administration and law enforcement agencies should not leave any stone unturned in nabbing these criminals and awarding them befitting punishments. The Department wishes her a speedy recovery and renewed spirit in fulfilling the goals that are ahead of her,” stated the note.
