The District Consultative Committee-cum-District Level Review Committee Meeting for Phek District for the quarter ending December 2025-26 was held on May 20 at DC conference hall, Phek under the chairmanship of Rhosietho Nguori, Deputy Commissioner, Phek.
The meeting was also attended by Nagaland CAWD & Taxes Advisor and Phek DPDB chairman Kudecho Khamo, including district administration, district HoDs, Lead Bank Manager, Branch managers, RBI and NABARD.
During the meeting, the House adopted the minutes of the last meeting. The House also discussed and deliberated on various agendas for the quarter ending December 2025-26 across the eight priority sectors of Phek district.
Discussions covered the conduct of Financial Literacy Camps (FLCs) and the expansion and deepening of the digital payment ecosystem (EDDPE). The meeting discussed on bank and business details, government sponsored schemes, Self Help Groups, Kisan Credit Card, credit outstanding and non-performing assets, social security schemes, PMJDY etc.
Addressing the gathering, Khamo, highlighted various issues faced by the public, including the need for the installation of ATMs at Rukizu Ward, Pfutsero Town, which will cater to the population of villages/towns under Sakraba EAC Circle as well as Phusachodu and surrounding villages.
Installation of ATM at Chetheba have also been discussed at the meeting.
He further urged banks to conduct Financial Literacy Camps regularly to create greater awareness among the public. Khamo called upon banks and government departments to work collectively towards the economic development of the district.
He told the financial institutions to be pro- active in farmers as agri-horti & livestock has got high potential to boost economy & uplift the living standard
He also asked the banks to support entrepreneurs and MSME initiatives, to seriously take up Central & State supported schemes and at the same time, urged the banks to lead and support the farmers & entrepreneurs so that they can take up various initiative with confidence and grow.
“Nagas can be trusted and that many of today’s young entrepreneurs are doing well. Few defaulters and poor performances of few should not be construed negatively, Khamo said.
Banks can adopt potential young entrepreneurs in their locality and grow with them, he added.
