Power shutdown in Tuensang, Noklak and adjoining areas on March 10 & 11

Mokokchung, March 2 (MExN): Power supply will remain completely shut at the 66/33kV Tuensang substation on March 10 and 11 from 8 am to 5 pm due to transmission line works, officials said.

The shutdown is necessitated for stringing of 132kV transmission lines at Mokokchung and Tuensang substations to facilitate charging of the new GIS Tuensang substation at rated voltage. Officials said the 132kV Mokokchung–Tuensang transmission line, upon completion, is scheduled to be test-charged at its rated 132kV voltage on March 12, 2026.

During the shutdown period, power supply from the 132kV Mokokchung–Tuensang and 132kV Kiphire–Tuensang transmission lines will remain suspended. Feeders under shutdown will include 33kV Tuensang Town, 33kV Longkhim and 33kV Noklak.

As a result, power supply will be affected in Tuensang, Noklak and Shamator districts, as well as in Longkhim and Chare areas.
The department has appealed to the public in the affected areas to extend cooperation and bear the inconvenience during the shutdown period.

The notice was issued by Executive Engineer Hekaito Assumi of the Transmission Division, Mokokchung.
