Kikheto allotted to IAS cadre

Dimapur, May 13 (MExN)
: The ministry of personnel, public grievances & pensioners (department of personnel & training) has appointed Y. Kikheto Sema, a non-SCS officer to the Indian Administrative Service from April 29. The Chief Secretary, Lalthara in a press note stated that the officer, Y. Kikheto Sema, on probation, has been allocated to the IAS cadre of Nagaland.

Meeting postponed

Dimapur, May 13 (MExN):
The All Nagaland Electricity Workers Association has informed in a press note that the proposed general meeting scheduled on May has been postponed until further notification due to some unavoidable circumstances.  

Street dweller found dead

Dimapur, May 13 (MExN):
One man was found dead near the Old NST terminus on Friday, May 13. The deceased, identified by the police as one Hiran Das (in his fifties) was a street dweller, living off the compassion of passers-by. He was regularly seen loitering around the area near the railway station, police quoting the people of the location said. He was found dead today around noon by passers-by who informed the police.  The body was later claimed by the brother of the deceased after conduct of post-mortem. According to the brother, police said that the deceased also has wife and children. What made him to behave that way could not be established.

JEE intending candidates’ plea

Dimapur, May 13 (MExN):
Three intending candidates for JEE 2011, Nagaland have appealed the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) to reschedule the date for the JEE, since it clashes with other entrance tests. The three candidates namely, Tsakato Zhimo, Imli Ao and Bokato Sumi in a letter addressed to the NBSE stated that the JEE 2011, Nagaland, to be held on May  23 and 24 clashes with the entrance test at St. John Medical College, Bangalore, which is scheduled on May 22 and NEIGHRIMS, Shillong on May 23.
“We therefore request your higher authority to look into the matter and enable us to appear the above mentioned exams by pre-poning or postponing by a few days, which will be of a great help in our future career,” appealed the three JEE candidates.
