One killed in accident

Kiphire, June 5 (MExN):
An Armada jeep NL-02-C 0510 met with an accident 20 km away from Kiphire today, where one person died on the spot and two injured. A press note received here stated that the ill-fated vehicle was on the way to village for domestic work. It also stated that the injured are out of danger.

Aggrieved teachers compulsory to attend meeting on June 10

Dimapur, June 5 (MExN):
The Aggrieved Teachers’ Association Nagaland held its executive meeting and decided to consider the plea of its members to hold a general meeting on June 10, 4:00 pm. All the aggrieved teachers are made compulsory to attend the meeting and at the same time request the department to speed up the process to avoid further confrontation and complications. The meeting is pertaining to delay of examiners result and the verdict for the remaining teachers. The executives convey its heartfelt gratitude to both the house of the assembly for their wisdom in understanding the issue, as well as in resolving amicably. “Now that the governing functionaries have given their consent and the time given before and after is sufficient to complete the process, also that the concern Minister appending his signature of approval, we find no other reason to withhold the result/verdict any further, hence the executives have decided to ask the result/verdict in person,” stated a press note issued by its working president Yetoho, co-covenor Moazen Aier and secretary Limayanger. It also stated: “With the time running on our members are pushed deeper into more hardships and untold miseries, the department should shoulder the responsibilities if any eventuality befalls upon our members before the result/verdict is delivered.”

Film on total sanitation campaign on June 7

Kohima, June 5 (MExN):
The Water & Sanitation Support Organization (WSSO), Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) will be releasing a docu-drama film on Total Sanitation Campaign prepared in three Naga dialects (Tenyidie, Ao and Sumi) and Nagamese on June 7 at PHED Conference hall at 10:00 AM followed by 3 week orientation and capacity building training for WSSO/DWSM Consultants/Chemists. Minister for PHE Dr. Ngangshi K. Ao will grace the inaugural function as the chief guest The function will be chaired by Kevisekho Kruse, director, WSSO, PHED while welcome speech will be delivered by K.G. Sumi, additional CE, PHED. The ongoing efforts of PHED for achieving sustainable water and sanitation systems in the state will be briefed by Mhondamo Ovung, chief engineer PHED. Zhaleo Rio, IAS, secretary PHED will also speak on the occasion. Vote of thanks will be proposed by Walter Longchar, SE (M&I).

Ramdev’s followers slam Delhi Police

Dimapur, June 5 (MExN):
Responding to the ‘brutal act’ perpetuated on the followers of Swami Ramdev Ji by Delhi Police today, the Swami has marked June 5 and 6 as Black Day. Concerning that, the PYS & BST, Dimapur called an emergency meeting on June 5 and resolved that today’s incident should be condemned. The Dimapur unit members have decided to bear black badges in support of observing Black Day. It is an appeal to all members, followers and other associated to support Swami Ramdev Ji ongoing non-violence demonstration (Satyagraha) which is mainly aimed to bring back black money from abroad, stated a press note issued by its vice president Ravinder Kumar Gupta. The note also stated: “Delhi Police on instruction from government had intervened, misbehaved with Param Pujya Swami Ramdev Ji, Achariya Balkrishna Ji and followers joined from India and abroad during very early hours (101:30 am) on June 5 at Ramlilla ground, New Delhi. Almost hundreds of supporters were injured during ongoing fast campaign, three of them under critical condition.”
