
Dimapur Bengali Samaj formed
Dimapur, June 19 (MExN): The Dimapur Bengali Community held a general meeting on June 19 at Sree Sree Ram Thakur Sevashram premises Railway Colony; which was attended by about 1200 delegates from all the colonies. Kalu Dutta, R.R.Barua, Debashish Dutta (Retd.), Dr.J.C.Das (Principal DJG College), Madhav Saha Senior Citizens were amongst other attended the meeting. The meeting has formed a committee under name “Dimapur Bengali Samaj” and elected K.K Paul (Advocate) as president, informed a press note issued by. Molay Roy, executive member of Dimapur Bengali Samaj.
Mass tree plantation drive conducted at Pongching
Dimapur, June 19 (MExN): In connection with the Department of Forests, Government of Nagaland declaring 2011 as the Year of Tree Plantation, the Pongching Students’ Union organized mass tree plantation drive in and around Pongching village from June 13 to 14. Environmental issue being the most burning and life threatening issue today, the student community took up the challenge to protect the environment and also to give environmental awareness, stated a press note issued by the union’s president and vice president. Around 3000 saplings were planted and 200 volunteers participated. The Students Union extend its appreciation to the CYE, Church, VG, Village Council and all people who participated in the two day tree plantation drive at Pongching Village. The Union also extend its gratitude to the department of Forests and DRDA Longleng for assistance to organize this programme, which is first of its kind in Pongching Village, it stated.
NNC Sumi Region clarifies
Dimapur, June 19 (MExN): In response to the news item published on June 15 in the local dailies by one Khehoto Y Zhimo on the termination of Kiumukam Yimchunger, vice president from NNC Organisation, Sumi Region, the president of Sumi Region Ghosuho Tuccu has clarified that the said news is totally “false and baseless”. “Zhimo, who claimed to the president of the Sumi region, is in fact neither a member nor is he nrolled in any service of NNC,” stated the president in a press note. The note stated that the NNC national workers, Sumi Region strongly condemned the false statement of Khehoto of going to press even without being a member of our organization. It may also be mentioned for public information that Zhimo was expelled from FGN and now is a “mere public”. “We are indeed collectively working under the leadership of president Dr Senka Yaden, NNC, Sumi region, vice president Kiumukam Yimchunger and general secretary Hozheto Chopy. Any kind of write ups or press statement against NNC without any proof against NNC Central Organisation and NNC Sumi Region, or collection of taxes. Donation in any form by any individual or group is strictly banned. NNC will take strict action as per ‘Azah’ against those who violate the same (sic),” the note said.
AKM mourns

The AKM has conveyed its deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and pray that Almighty God would grant strength to the family at this hour of grief. Dimapur, June 19 (MExN): The Dimapur Municipal has stepped forward in solving the drainage problem of Ura Villa, which was at the hour of urgent need. A press note issued by the Chairman of Ura Villa I.Meren Imsong stated that under the guidance of chief advisor of Dimapur Municipal Council K. Keditsu and advisor Lepshi Ao in-charge of Sanitation rendered instant service in solving the problem of the colony.
“We highly appreciate their concern for the public with sincere heart and responsibility when approached. We pray God’s abundant blessings upon them in all their endeavors and wish them long life,” the note said. It also stated that the brand new JCB of the DMC was put into public service for the first time at Ura Villa on June 18 after a dedicatory prayer by evangelist Eli in the presence of Lepshi Ao, advisor, DMC in-charge of sanitation, M. Khate, vice president of NPF Dimapur Division and the council members of the colony.
NNC Yimchunger Region responds
Dimapur, June 19 (MExN): Responding to the NNC Ao and Lotha Region supporting June 2, meeting held at Tsasher village, some of the NNC members stated that Imtisahi Aier of Ao Region, general secretary and Imotemjen Longchar are know only within Ao region and "have no any relation or know to central (Govt.) NNC".
It also stated: “…another incumbent Shri. V.Nagi the so called Gen-secretary NNC is a self style outfit who’s object is to lured the innocent Nagas by money for his own benefits and position (sic).”
It also stated that Kiumukam Yimchunger, the Vice-president of NNC is purely appointed by NNC central Govt. who really dedicated his life for the welfare of Naga nation. “But it is on 2nd June11 where Shri. Imtisashi Aier and shri. Imotemjen Longchar don’t have any knowledge of the NNC central (Govt.) but it was purely misguided by the so called “Lotha and yimchunger region” and was done for their own benefits and to misguide the innocent Naga (sic).”
The note was appended by K.T president of Yimchung region, Mukimong ‘tatar’ of Yimchung region, Sashi Aier ‘deputy kilonser’, ‘tatar’ Imkongmeren , ‘maj’Moa and under secretary T. Wati.
Also, another four members of NNC – ‘commandant’Zhelo .Yim , ‘commandant’ Kechingkhum Yim , 'major’Kikong Yim and ‘major’ Shokhea Yim has stated that they have no idea about the the condemnation published on June 6 in a local daily. “…we the four person have no idea against the termination of V.P Kiumukam Yimchunger, so we strongly condemn the release.”
