World Music Day at Dimapur

Dimapur, June 20 (MExN):
Dimapur will be celebrating ‘World Music Day’ organized by the NEZCC with the rest of the world on June 21, 5:30 pm at IMC Hall, Dimapur.  World Music Day is being celebrated at Dimapur for the first time in a grand scale with five popular Bands viz., Abiogenesis Band (Nagaland) Snow White (Shillong), Alice in Wonderland (Kohima), NaadBrahma ( Assam), NE Xpress featuring Sonam Sherpa, Dilip Ramachandran (Parikrama) from Delhi showcasing their mesmerizing music. The event will be inaugurated by Shri. Alemtemshi Jamir, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, stated the Director of NEZCC, Som Kamei in a press note.  The note also stated that NEZCC with great pleasure invites all music lovers to the event. The entry to the show is made free with a view to make it accessible to a cross section of people of Dimapur.  Do join the celebrations and make it very special and enchanting evening of fusion music.

Plants for free distribution

Dimapur, June 20 (MExN):
The Silviculture Division Kohima has informed that various types of seedlings/ saplings – ornamental, economic, fruit tree species are available for free distribution to the public for plantation. The people are invited to avail the opportunity during the right season. Sapling are available at the following places: Silviculture Nurseries at Rangapahar, Signal Point (Near Urban Police Station), Tuli (Under Mokokchung District), informed a press note issued by the Office of the State Silviculturist  

W/c staff on salary delay

Dimapur, June 20 (MExN):
Work charge salary for W/c staff of Peren district PHED has not been paid from the December 2010 till date. A note addressed to the Directorate of PHED Department issued by W/c, Revenue Collector, PHED, Jalukie, Md. R. Rahman stated that the employees are facing problem such finding it difficult to meet basic requirements and they are not in a position to pay their children’s school fees for which the children are unable to continue their studies.  “We therefore request the Directorate to kindly release pay at the earliest,” the note said.

Vandalism inside Children Park reported

Dimapur, JUNE 20 (MExN):
A group of Supply Colony residents led by GB and Ex-Chairman of the colony came on June 18 and destroyed the plantation and protective fencing in the premises of Children’s Park at Supply Colony, which was maintained by the United Women Welfare Organization Dimapur (UWWO). According to a press note from K. Amenla, Vice President of UWWO, it had been maintaining the park since 1987 till date through various orders from the government. The press note as such has asked the administration to look into the matter seriously and ask the Supply Colony Union on the reason for their uncivilized act of vandalism led by government appointed GB.  The UWWO stated that as part of the Year of Tree Plantation the Forest Department planted about 60 saplings of Bobul and Ajar species on June 18 by providing about 22 department staff and bamboo protective fences on their own in the premises of the children’s park.
 
CBC,MHK VBS starts from today
 
Kohima, June 20 (MExN): The weeklong 2011 Vacation Bible School (VBS) of Chakhesang Baptist Church, Ministers’ Hill Kohima (CBC,MHK) would commence tomorrow at the Mount Sinai Higher Secondary School, Kohima (MSHSSK) from June 21 to 26.
The week long bible school would be held under the theme, “The Power of Prayer”. Akhan T.Koza and Wepre Mero, Associate Pastor CBC,MHK will be the panel speakers during the programme. As per the scheduled programme, Akholu Koza, Matholhou Nakro have been assigned as director and assistant director of VBS respectively while Praise & worship will be led by Nusote-u Losou, Asune Demo and Punutso Nienu will act as teacher devotion and prayer warrior in charges.
The week long programme was classified into eight different classes. Pledging of allegiance, love feast, evening worship, catering, photography etc were some of the highlights that would featured during the week long programme.
The inaugural function would be held on June 21, 10:00 am onwards where the grand finale would be held on June 26, 10:00 am onwards followed by love feast and valedictory function at 3:00 pm.
