
The relics of St. John Bosco, is arriving to Nagaland from Manipur, after having traveled through countries of USA, Mexico, Canada and the Far East Asian countries. From Nagaland the pilgrimage will proceed to the rest of the North Eastern India and other Indian States. The relics will reach Kohima on May 4.
A press note received here issued by Dominic Yazokie, Convenor of Media Committee Angami Catholic Union stated that to commemorate the bicentenary of the birth of St. John Bosco, his relics are on pilgrimage to the centres and towns of the world, where the Gospel of the Lord has been spread by his Congregations covering 130 Nations. The pilgrimage began on January 31, 2009 which was the 150th Anniversary for the foundation of the Congregation.
The relics of St. John Bosco on pilgrimage contains, his right hand and arm, which was exhumed in 1929 and recomposed into a body replica with wax and placed inside a glass case, mounted on a cart. The relics shall arrive on the May 4 to ‘Little Flower School, Kohima’ from Punanamai at 4:00 pm, on May 5 shall be shifted to Cathedral and to Christ King Church, Kohima Village at 9:00 am, on May 6 be moved to Zubza at 9:00 am and on May 7 leave for Wokha at 5:30 am and Assam/Arunachal Pradesh, following which the relics will return to Dimapur on the May 21 at 9:30 am and shall proceed to Guwahati on the May 25 at 5:30 am.
At the venues and dates indicated, veneration services shall be held for all believers and public and as per the timings of movement mentioned, all public are welcome to make their personal supplications for intercessions. May the intercessions of St. John Bosco for the people of Nagaland, be harkened by the Almighty God. Amen, the note stated.
The note stated that the church venerates the relics of saints who were the servants of God and through whom God has worked miracles. The veneration is to seek the intercessions of the saints for all our prayers to God.
