
Kohima, April 19 (DIPR): Scrutiny of nomination papers for the bye-election to the 26-Aonglenden Assembly constituency was held at DC’s conference hall on April 19. Having undertaken necessary exercise in presence of candidates, Legal Advisors and their Election Agent, the Deputy Commissioner & Returning Officer, Mokokchung, Lithrongla G. Chishi has declared the nomination papers of S.C Jamir and Toshipokba accepted.
General Observer Nandadulal Bhakat IAS and Expenditure Observer Dr. S.S Dhavale were also present during the scrutiny. The last date of withdrawal is April 21. Election will be held on may 7.
Moreover, Election Commission’s General Observer for the by-election, Nandadulal Bhakat, IAS reached Mokokchung on April 18 and is staying at Commissioner’s Rest House, Sangtemla Ward, Mokokchung Town. The General Observer may be contacted at 9862953919.
As reported earlier, the Expenditure Observer Dr. S.S Dhavale, Additional Commissioner, Valuation Mumbai reached Mokokchung on April 12, who is also staying at Commissioner’s Rest House.
The Observers will be attending the meeting convened by the Returning Officer with Recognized National/state political parties, contesting candidates and election Agent of 26 Aonglenden A/C on April 21.
Meanwhile, the Returning Officer, Mokokchung, Lithrongla G. Chishi has appointed Counting Supervisors, Counting Assistants and other Counting Officials including Grade-IV Staff for the purpose of assisting the RO in the counting of votes.
All the Counting Supervisors and Assistants were directed to attend training on May 12 at Mokokchung Town Hall at 11:00 am. The Electronic Voting Machine Master Trainers will impart training.
