DIMAPUR, MAY 17 (MExN): The Tangkhul Hoho Nagaland (THN) stated that it was grieved to learn about the kidnapping and savage murder of Md Israr, a business man purportedly by unscrupulous cadres of NSCN/GPRN recently. “The THN strongly condemns the act. Abductions for ransom and subjecting to torture and inhuman treatment just to fulfill individual’s insatiable greed have become a serious concern of everybody in the state”, stated a press note issued by NA Kasar, president THN and N Jagoi, general secretary, THN.
The THN has urged the NSCN/GPRN to ensure an impartial investigation into this grave case and take necessary measures to rein the cadres in order to prevent re-occurrence of such acts in future. The THN also expressed shock to learn about the rape and murder of a young Naga girl by unidentified miscreants and unequivocally denounced the barbaric act. While appreciating the swift action of the state police in arresting the culprits involved in the killing of Md Israr, it urged the police to take every possible step to find out the murderers of the teenage girl in order to prevent any such acts of crime against women.
“The THN’s condolences are with the victims’ families. The senseless murder in both cases violates all reasons and morality, and is something that all decent people in the state would absolutely condemn”, it stated.
