Dimapur, June 3 (MExN): In yet another success story of MGNREGA under DRDA Dimapur, three completed projects- two waiting sheds and a public toilet constructed by VDB Union RD Block Niuland under general scheme 2010-2011 were inaugurated simultaneously at different places by departmental officials on June 3.
Alemla K. Chishi, PO cum DPO (MGNREGA), DRDA Dimapur inaugurated a waiting shed at Ato Area (Nihokhu) as chief guest, Visasolie Lhoungu, PD cum DPC (MGNREGA), DRDA Dimapur inaugurated a public toilet at Niuland town as chief guest and V. Kashiho Sangtam BDO cum PO (MGNREGA), RD Block Niuland.
GBs and chairmen of each area delivered short speeches at inauguration sites wherein they thanked the concerned officials for success of the projects and urged VDB union to see that villages properly utilize the funds, stated a press note received here. It stated that soon after the inaugurations a function was organized at Hozheto Resort, Zuheshe village which was attended by host of VDB secretaries under RD Block Niuland, Rural Development officials, public and well wishers. The union office bearers felicitated the dignitaries on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Alemla said government is providing many schemes for rural development besides flagship programme – MGNREGA and that the villages should avail the facilities for all round development of villages.
Project Director, Visasolie said that toilet is a basic necessity for every single person and therefore urged the public to hygienically use the facility and to preserve it.
He said that RD has given full power to village for its development but demanding percentage for every project is hampering development. Urging the people not to eat the seed but to eat the fruit, he called on the people to educate one another.
Also speaking on the occasion, BDO Kashiho said that the newly completed projects are for public utility and thus it has to be maintained by all concerned.
