Dimapur, May 9 (MExN): The Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) has stated that the 24 hrs total bandh in the Ukhrul district on May 5, 2011 was called by Tangkhul coordination committee (TCC) and was as per the directive of TNL. It also said that all the Tangkhul Frontal Organizations are also represented in the TCC.
A press note issued by K.Dickson, General Secretary, Tangkhul Naga Long stated that Manipur Naga Revolutionary Front (MNRF) in its press statement in the Sangai Express published on May 6, 2011 had warned K.Jonathan, convenor, TCC and his colleagues. TNL said that the statement is baseless and found quite immature and added that MNRF should rather voice for the rights of the Naga people.
TNL stated that it shall always act and continue to do as accordingly as per the 3rd Naga Peoples Convention (NPC) declaration where imposing of ADC Act in the Hill areas are totally discarded. “We shall lift no stone unturned until the communal government of Manipur withdraws such repressive ADC Act from the Naga areas/Hill areas. Targeting any group or individual in this regard,” TNL said and added that it shall never compromise under any circumstances.
TNL cautioned that it can no longer tolerate such immature statement with vested interest and appeals all individuals/groups /organizations to extend fullest co-operation while demanding their rights. “Unnecessary accusation and propagating hate campaign among the Nagas will bring no positive result. It is well known that certain groups and individuals are being used as instrument, mouth piece by the communal Government of Manipur and other elements to sabotage the Naga demands. It is better to remain silent instead of being instrument of the enemies,” TNL stated in the note.
K. Jonathan, Convenor TCC and his colleagues are appointed by the Tangkhul Naga Long and sacrificing their precious time with the right direction for the interest of the Naga. “Be cautious, the divide and rule policy of the communal Government of Manipur. All concerns are appeal to extend fullest co-operation until our goal is achieve. We welcome any constructive suggestion,” TNL further stated in the note.
