UCO Bank new branch at Namsai town inaugurated

Arunachal Pradesh, August 14 (MExN): A new branch of UCO Bank at Namsai town was inaugurated by Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on August 14. 

Speaking on the occasion, Mein said the new branch would ensure better customer service and easier access to financial facilities for residents of the area. UCO Bank is providing improved and modern banking services across Arunachal Pradesh.

Zonal Head Narendra Pratap Singh said the Namsai branch falls under the bank's Jorhat Zone and is the 60th branch in the zone. With this addition, UCO Bank now has five branches in Arunachal Pradesh, located at Itanagar, Banderdeva, Thrizino, Nirjuli and Namsai, the last becoming operational this year.

According to bank officials, as on the June quarter of FY 2026-27, UCO Bank had 3,421 domestic branches, two branches abroad -- in Hong Kong and Singapore -- and a representative office in Iran. As on June 30, 2026, the bank had 2,680 ATMs and 11,146 Business Correspondent (BC) points across the country.

Officials said the new branch would give further momentum to the Centre's financial inclusion goals and aid the region's development.

Among those present on the occasion were Namsai MLA Chau Zingnnu Namchoom, Deputy Commissioner Lobsang Tsering, Superintendent of Police Sange Thinley, District Planning Officer Dr K Sarmah, Chief Manager and Resources Head Achajya Sonowal, Chief Manager Nishant, Tinsukia Assistant Branch Manager Shravan Kumar, Namsai Branch Manager Subham Kumar, Assistant Branch Manager Ratna Baruah and CSA Priyanka Singh.
