A joint team of United Naga Council (UNC), Naga Women Union (NWU) and All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur (ANSAM) visited Chassad village and Kamjong district headquarters on Wednesday and met villagers.

According to UNC leaders, the joint team comprised of about 10 members met leaders of Chassad village--church leaders, women leaders and other village leaders---and expressed deep sorrow on “what had happened”.

The UNC leaders informed Newmai News Network this evening that the whole episode that had occurred was "extremely" unfortunate. “We have no words to express what had happened”, said UNC president S Kho John. The UNC leader then termed it as “the most unfortunate incident”.

The delegation of UNC, NWU and ANSAM also visited the relief camp set up for the Chassad villagers and spent sometime with the people there.

In Kamjong, the delegation of UNC, NWU and ANSAM met village chiefs and various organization leaders including student organization leaders.

In both Chassad village and Kamjong town, the joint team of UNC, NWU and ANSAM “fervently” appealed the leaders to exhibit maturity so that such troubles do not happen again.

“What had happened is happened. We need to look forward by embracing the culture of forgiving one another,” the joint team of UNC, NWU and ANSAM  appealed leaders of Chassad village and also to village chiefs, leaders of various organisations of Kamjong district.
