
Dimapur, July 29 (MExN): Yetshulhi Ngatsi has been appointed as the new President of the Western Chakhesang Hoho (WCH) after his nomination was unanimously approved during its Executive Council Meeting on July 26.
It also approved the nomination of Nukuzo Vero as Vice President (Jury) and Elijah Pfuno as Secretary in charge of Publicity and Information.
Further, the meeting also approved and adopted the formal affiliation of the Karbi Anglong Chakhesang Union into the WCH.
“This marks a renewed chapter of leadership, strengthening WCH’s mission and reaffirming its role as a unifying platform for the Chakhesang community across regions,” the WCH stated in a press release.
On the occasion, the WCH General Secretary presented a comprehensive report on its activities and initiatives while underscoring its unwavering commitment to unity, progress, and the development of the community and society at large, it said.
The meeting, held at the WCH Building, Chakhesang Colony, Dimapur, was attended by the Chairmen and Executive Members of affiliated villages/units across districts—namely Dimapur and its adjoining areas, Chumoukedima, Niuland, and Peren—alongside Office Bearers, Jury Board Members, and Advisory Board Members.
The Presidents/Chairpersons of all frontal organizations, including the Western Chakhesang Mothers’ Association, Western Chakhesang GBs’ Union, Western Chakhesang Students’ Union, and Western Chakhesang Youth Organisation, also attended the meeting.
The meeting concluded on a note of optimism and shared responsibility, envisioning a future where collective wisdom and collaborative action remain the cornerstones of community development, the release added.
