The 19 Imchaba Master Memorial Nagaland Open Volleyball Trophy 2026 was formally declared open at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex, Mokokchung, on September 22.
Organised by the Mokokchung District Volleyball Association the inaugural programme was graced by Imkongchuba A, Chairperson, Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC), as the Guest of honour.
The inaugural programme featured the handing over of the championship trophy by defending champion Evergreen Club, Ungma and speech from the guest of honor along with the welcome address by Imliyanger, Convenor , Planning Committee.
The 19 edition of the tournament features 14 teams, with six teams representing Mokokchung and eight teams from Tuensang, Wokha, Zunheboto and Kohima districts.
Pangti Volleyball Team opens Imchaba Trophy campaign with win
Pangti Volleyball Team began its campaign in the 19 Imchaba Master Memorial Nagaland Open Volleyball Trophy 2026 with a straight-set victory over Longsa Sports Association.
In the opening match of the tournament, Pangti Volleyball Team defeated Longsa Sports Association 2–0, winning both sets 27–25 and 25–17.
Longsa put up a strong challenge in the opening set, but Pangti edged ahead 27–25. Pangti then maintained its momentum in the second set to secure a 25–17 win and seal the match in straight sets.
9 day and night matches were played on day one of the tournament. The tournament will conclude on 25 September.
