The 31st Biennial General Conference 2025 of the Angami Students’ Union (ASU) concluded today at Khonoma Village.

Medo Yhokha, former ASU President, former MLA, and Advisor to the Government of Nagaland, addressed the gathering as the special guest.

In his speech, Yhokha urged the youth to remain steadfast in their responsibilities as future leaders, stressing the need for discipline, unity, and cultural rootedness, while embracing personal and academic growth.

“Today, education and infrastructure are at our doorstep,” Yhokha stated.

“Without qualification, we cannot move forward. Complacency must be replaced by a strong work ethic and a change in outlook,” he said.

He urged young people to explore business and entrepreneurial ventures, stating, “We often talk about outsiders controlling our economy, but who is to be blamed? It’s time to take responsibility and start creating change.”

He also spoke on the upcoming Zubza railway line, outlining both its potential economic impact and its environmental implications.

He extended his congratulations to the newly elected ASU team led by president Dievizekho Nakhro, expressing hope in their commitment and vision for the future of the student community.

Kezhazer Angami announced the new team of ASU tenure 2025-27 led by Diezevisie  Nakhro as its president.

The session was led by Vizosienuo Shüya, Secretary of Women Affairs, ASU. Pelevisie Vüprü, Pastor of Living God Ministry Prayer Center, Khonoma, invoked God’s blessing while Kethonuo Sekhose presented special song. ASU speaker Zhasakholie Kehie proposed the vote of thanks.
