The Research Development Cell (RDC) of Baptist College, Kohima, organized its Institutional Seminar 2025 on September 30.

KOHIMA, OCTOBER 2 (MExN): The Research Development Cell (RDC) of Baptist College, Kohima, organized its Institutional Seminar 2025 on September 30 to promote academic growth and encourage faculty members to engage in research-oriented initiatives.
The seminar was chaired by Dr Sentinaro, Convenor of the RDC, and featured Professor Tiatoshi Jamir from the Department of History & Archaeology, Nagaland University, Meriema, as the invited Discussant. The programme began with a prayer by Chaplain Tamreimung, followed by a welcome address from Dr Kekuchol Pusa, Principal of Baptist College, Sechü Campus.
The seminar included interdisciplinary presentations across social sciences, humanities and environmental studies. In the first session, Dr S.K. Pandey examined women’s enrolment trends in higher education, while Ms Tabitha K. Assumi discussed environmental consequences of colonial exploitation in her paper “Drain and Grain: Ecology and the Colonial Facade”. Ms P. Wondanglo Tsopoe highlighted gender representation in folklore in “Gender Identity of the Lotha Nagas: A Study of Folklore”.
The second session focused on indigenous knowledge and environmental issues. Dr Kewepfuzu Lohe presented on Chakhesang Nagas’ ecological practices, Ms Imtisenla Mokholee discussed the political participation of Naga women post-independence, and Ms Sevolü Chüzho addressed waste management challenges in Kohima’s Mission Compound area.
The seminar concluded with feedback from Professor Jamir, an interactive Q&A session, and a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Khobu Tsolo. Dr Videkhono Yhokha gave the closing remarks. The event was aimed at strengthening research culture, fostering collaboration, and expanding academic discourse within the institution.
