MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu inaugurated the erecting of boundary stone between Khuza and Mutsale village in Phek district on February 26.
This stone pillar stands as a testimony to the mutual commitments to live in harmony and fraternity between Khuza village and Mutsale village and the end of animosity and hostility.
“The land dispute spanning more than 9 decades dating to the British era which witnessed confrontations and bloodshed, and seemed impossible to solve was amicably settled on 29th April 2021; made possible through the grace of God, the goodwill initiatives of Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, MLA 19th Phek A/C & Zhopra Vero, Kedahge NNC/FGN; the relentless efforts of the Phek Area Public Organization, patronage of Phek DC Razouvolie Dozo and the compliance and desire of the two villages who leaders are remembered on this pillar, to live in peaceful co-existence,” scripted in the boundary stone.
Addressing the gathering, Azo, described the peace treaty between the two villages as one the biggest achievement in one’s life time and also stated that the peaceful co-existence of communities and villages should be the primary focus of any leader and the government.
As Christians, the Bible also teaches us to live at peace with one another as brothers, he said, adding, “These are necessary in order to bring blessings to the community.”
He also thanked Zhopra Vero, the then Phek DC Razouvolie Dozo, the present DC Rhosietho Nguori, the present EAC Khuza, Mechetso Koza for their presence and patronage too.
Only after a gap of 96 years, this boundary stone was able to be erected on February 26, 2026 with DC Phek & EAC Khuza as witness, he said, and described it as a historic moment for Phek area people and “a biggest milestone achievement.”
Rhosietho Nguori, DC Phek, Rakhusu Vewsu and Zhopra Vero also spoke at the programme. The programme was chaired by PAPO president Wepelo Mebou while Rev Dr Vezopa Tetseo, pastor, Phek Town Baptist Church invoked God’s blessings. The brief account on the resolution of land dispute was highlighted by PAPO vice president Vesheta Khesoh. Vote of thanks was proposed by Vechizo Khamo, General Secretary PAPO while Rev Puduhu Khusoh, Pastor, 5th NAP Baptist Church Phek pronounced benediction.
