Dimapur Government College DGC concluded a two-week online National Workshop on Research Methodology, organised by the Research & Development Cell in collaboration with the IQAC DGC.

Dimapur, April 18 (MExN): Dimapur Government College (DGC) concluded a two-week online National Workshop on Research Methodology, organised by the Research & Development Cell in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), DGC. The workshop, held from April 7 to 17, was sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research, North East Regional Centre (ICSSR-NERC).

The programme received a registration of over 800 participants, including university and college teachers as well as research scholars from across India and abroad, including Malaysia, Uganda, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh, highlighting its global academic reach and relevance.

The valedictory session was graced by V Lovitoly Sema, NCS, Ex Officio Director, Higher Education, Nagaland, as the guest. Stating that the workshop was designed to strengthen research capacity in an increasingly knowledge-driven academic environment, she noted that with a growing emphasis on quality publications, interdisciplinary enquiry, and evidence-based teaching, the pressing need for faculty members to be equipped with rigorous methodological skills was greatly felt.

She further hoped that the programme had empowered teachers and scholars to undertake meaningful and sound research, ultimately resulting in a stronger research ecosystem—fulfilling the tenets of NEP 2020 in particular and contributing to quality research output in the country, helping India become a research powerhouse. She also asserted that research should be able to provide solutions for societal problems.

The workshop featured resource persons from across the country for 19 technical sessions. The valedictory session was chaired by A Moamongla Aier, Associate Professor, Department of Political Science, DGC. Participants shared their valuable feedback and observations. Closing remarks were delivered by Dr H Atoholi Sema, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, DGC, while Dr Meripeni Ngully, Vice Principal, DGC, delivered the vote of thanks.
