Kohima, March 6 (MExN): Kohima College celebrated its 57th Cultural-cum-Literary Day on Friday with the theme “The Eternal Thread”, showcasing the cultural diversity and literary talents of students.

He emphasised that academic institutions like Kohima College must nurture students to become good speakers and writers, as the ability to articulate stories, ideas and experiences is essential for preserving and transmitting the cultural values of Naga society.

The programme featured a series of cultural performances including folk dances, songs, war cries and displays of ethnic attire representing various indigenous tribes of Nagaland.

Several competitions were also organised during the event, including debate, extempore speech and signature dish preparation, centred on the theme of culture, diversity and ethical appropriation.

In the competitions, Pochury students won the signature dish category, Zeliang students won the folk dance event and Rengma students secured first place in the war cry competition.
