NSCN (IM) warns against diversion of subsidised rice

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 26 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has warned of stringent action against those involved in tampering with or diverting subsidised rice meant for the poor and vulnerable sections of society.
In a statement, the Ministry of Kilo Affairs, NSCN (IM) said it had come to its notice through a reliable source that rice under schemes such as FCI Rice, Tide Over Rice, PHH and AAY was being manipulated and sold in the black market.
It said diversion of subsidised food grains intended for public distribution is “illegal and unlawful,”and cautioned that action would be taken against any defaulters, including government employees or members of the public, found involved in such malpractice within Naga-inhabited areas.

NPF condoles death of Sangsa village Ahng

KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 26 (MExN): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) expressed deep condolences to P Paiwang Konyak, Minister and his family on the demise of his father, Langto Ahngpa, the revered Ahng of Sangsa village. In a statement, the party said it stood in solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed for strength and courage for them during this period of loss. The NPF also wished that the departed soul of Langto Ahngpa finds eternal peace in the heavenly abode.

NSCN- R (Akato) mourns death of Tatar K Kitoka Aye

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 26 (MExN): The NSCN-R (Akato) has expressed grief over the death of its Tatar, K Kitoka Aye, son of Khuvuhe Aye of Yehemi village, who passed away on September 25. In a condolence message, the Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP) said the voluntary national service rendered by the late comrade was “highly appreciated and acknowledged” and would remain etched in the history of the Naga national movement. Describing him as a “simple and honest nationalist,” the NSCN-R (Akato) said his legacy would be cherished by his compatriots.
