Nagaland reviews health scheme for women, children

Officers and others during the meeting held at IDSP Conference Hall, Directorate of Health & Family Welfare to review the implementation of SNSPA and related issues concerning Health Services.

KOHIMA, September 26 (MExN): The Nagaland government reviewed the implementation of the 'Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan' (SNSPA), a campaign aimed at enhancing healthcare access in rural and tribal areas through special health camps.

The meeting was convened by Commissioner & Secretary for Health & Family Welfare, Anoop Khinchi, and co-chaired by Principal Director Dr Mereninla Senlem at IDSP conference hall, Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Kohima.

According to a press release, the meeting assessed the quality of health service delivery under the ongoing SNSPA camps, which aims to enhance healthcare access in rural and tribal areas by deploying specialist medical services. Health facilities across Nagaland continue to host activities focussed on the wellbeing of women and children from screenings and awareness to counselling and community engagement, it stated. 

In-depth review of reporting system was discussed and resolved to collaborate more between IT section and vertical program for ease of reporting which then can potentially be utilized for research and case study.

The meeting also emphasised the importance of adequate training for staff and enhanced field monitoring from the state level to ensure better guidance and improve the overall healthcare delivery system.
