KOHIMA, MARCH 30 (MExN): The Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides (NSBSG) have launched their first State-Level Adventure Camp, which runs from March 27 to 31 with its base camp at the State Headquarters in Bayavü Hill, Kohima.

Nagaland MLA and Advisor for Youth Resources and Sports, Keoshu Yimkhiung, who also serves as the NSBSG president, flagged off the inaugural event as the special guest. Addressing the participants, Yimkhiung described the camp as a rare opportunity to connect with nature and encouraged attendees to make the most of the experience, which he said goes beyond routine academics. He also assured his support in motivating young people to explore new challenges.
State Organising Commissioner (Scouts) John Tochimong provided an overview of the adventure camp, which includes trekking, nature studies, hikes, exploring, campfires, and sightseeing. Participants will visit destinations such as the Botanical Garden, Kohima Cathedral, the Kohima World War Cemetery, Puliebadze in Jotsoma, Khonoma Village, and Dzükou Valley. The program is open to individuals aged 12 to 60 and aims to foster bonding and self-improvement through outdoor experiences.

The inaugural event was chaired by State Organising Commissioner (Guides) Vimezhonu, with introductions by Assistant State Organising Commissioner (Scouts) Imlisunep. The program also featured a special performance by Rajya Puraskar Scout Heshe Achumi, while State Commissioner (Bulbuls) Chubanungla delivered the vote of thanks.
A total of 90 participants from Chümoukedima, Dimapur, Kohima, Wokha, and Zunheboto districts are taking part in the five-day camp, which promises adventure and skill-building challenges before concluding on March 31.
