NFCA calls for investigation into William Koso’s death in accident

DIMAPUR, MARCH 28 (MExN): The Nagaland Football Coaches Association (NFCA) has appealed to the state’s Director General of Police for a thorough investigation into the death of William Koso, a well-known football coach and instructor, who succumbed to injuries following an accident at 5th Mile, Chümoukedima, in the early hours of March 25.

In a letter addressed to the police chief, NFCA President Rokoan Ami and General Secretary Ayetttu urged authorities to ensure a timely and transparent inquiry into the incident.

Koso, who was serving as the technical convenor of the ongoing Nagaland Super League, was critically injured in the accident and later passed away at the Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR). The NFCA described him as a key figure in Nagaland’s sporting fraternity, known for his contributions to grassroots coaching and the professionalization of football in the state.

The association acknowledged reports that the police had already apprehended the suspect involved in the incident. While appreciating the swift action, the NFCA called for a conclusive investigation to provide clarity to the public and the sporting community.

“The sporting fraternity has been left stunned and deeply saddened by this tragic loss. We need answers,” the NFCA stated in its appeal.
