NJCF clarifies position, backs ban on satanic worship

KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 30 (MExN): The Nagaland Joint Christian Forum (NJCF) on Tuesday issued a clarification stating that certain media outlets had misrepresented its position on the ban of satanic worship in the state.

In a statement, NJCF said reports suggesting that it was opposed to such a ban were “completely inaccurate.” “NJCF firmly clarifies that it supports the ban, and regrets any misinterpretation that may have arisen,” it said.

The Forum said it has consistently supported the prohibition of satanic and unbiblical practices and has urged that such activities be banned decisively and without unnecessary debate or publicity “so that they do not gain attention or legitimacy.”

The NJCF expressed concern that such misrepresentation had spread across different platforms, creating confusion among the public and reflecting negatively on the image of Nagaland. It reiterated its full support for the ban and strongly condemned satanic worship and other unbiblical practices.

The Forum also appealed to the government to issue an order banning satanic worship and activities immediately in the state.

Further, it urged media houses and the public to verify facts before reporting and avoid circulating information that distorts the intentions of organisations working for the welfare and moral standards of society.
