NPF mourns demise of Rongsenchila

Kohima, April 21 (MExN): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) has expressed sorrow over the demise of Rongsenchila, wife of late Imsumeren, the first MLA from 26 Aonglenden Assembly Constituency.

In a condolence note, the party remembered her as a quiet pillar of strength, known for her deep faith, grace, compassion, and unwavering love.

Late Rongsenchila leaves behind her two sons, seven daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her legacy of kindness, resilience, and faith, it said.

According to the NPF, she was closely associated with the party through her late husband, Late Imsumeren, who was among the founding MLAs of the party—then known as the Democratic Party of Nagaland—from the 26 Aonglenden Assembly Constituency in 1964.

The party noted that Late Imsumeren’s decision to resign from the Assembly in honour of the Ceasefire Agreement remains a shining example of principle, sacrifice, and dedication to the larger Indo-Naga political cause, and that throughout his journey, Late Rongsenchila stood as his steadfast support.

Extending condolences on behalf of the party, MLA and NPF Secretary General Achumbemo Kikon conveyed sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed for strength and comfort during this time of loss.

“May the loving memories of her gentle spirit and the many lives she enriched bring you comfort and strength in the days ahead,” it added.
