Kohima, September 16 (MExN): The Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) in collaboration with the Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) and the Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Government of Nagaland, has recently conducted its training camp for 39th National Games 2027, to be hosted by the State of Meghalaya.

The 1st selection trial covering wrestling disciplines of Greco-Roman, Freestyle, and Women’s Wrestling and successfully completed on 15 September 2026 at Viswema Multipurpose Hall.

The selection trial is intended to identify and select talented wrestlers from Nagaland to participate at the 39th National Games.

The initiative underscores the commitment of the NWA, NOA, and the Department of Youth Resources & Sports to strengthening Wrestling and developing competitive talent across the State.

The programme was graced by Ruokuovikho Chale, President of the Angami Sports Association, as the Special Guest.

The Trails includes 45 eligible wrestlers from Angamis, Chakhesang, Zeliang, Chang, Sumi, Pochury, Sangtam and Rengma.

The programme was chaired by Kenlum Hemang, General Secretary, Nagaland Wrestling Association.
