Kohima | July 16 : The Rotary Club Kohima held its 8th Installation ceremony at Hotel Japfu Kohima with Additional Chief Secretary, Alemtemshi Jamir, IAS as the chief guest. Kezhokhoto Savi was inducted as the president of RTC for the second time. The chief guest congratulated the board of directors and the Rotarians for their immense humanitarian effort.
Jamir said Rotary club members do not gain any profit personally or financially except recognition of awards. The chief guest stated that such clubs shows the belief of living with one another in love and oneness. Speaking on the development trends in Nagaland, especially the educated youth he said most government plans are rural-oriented thereby the grievances of the young enthusiastic people should be addressed by focusing on urbanization.
Adding more, Jamir said the older generation has failed to provide the need of the youth, which created a wide, gap of social problems thereby the available opportunities are not sufficient. He also assured that the 12th Plan, focus would be on urbanization and said that Rotary Club has a vital role to play and encouraged the club to continue with humanitarian works.
Er. Vikuotuolie Angami and Rtn Impalong Longkumer received Paul Harris fellow recognition, which was honored by Rtn. Chandu Aggarwalla MPHF, Past Asst- Governor. The former Asst- Governor congratulated the team and immediate president Toshevi Keditsu PHF for registering the highest number of member during her term and urged to work more to fulfill the aspiration of the needy people. The president also delivered presidential acceptance speech. Earlier Toshevi Keditsu chaired the programme.
