Nagaland’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Electoral Roll 2026 has so far recorded distribution of 3,45,233 Enumeration Forms (EFs), covering 25.44% of the State’s 13,57,208 electors, as of 4 pm on August 20, according to the latest status report of the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Nagaland.

Of the EFs distributed, however, only 22,626 or 1.67%, have been digitised, while 206 EFs have been submitted online by electors.

The figures come as the election machinery continues the house-to-house Enumeration Form exercise, scheduled from August 16 to September 14.

The CEO, Nagaland, also updated on X on August 20 that a review meeting with ECI Secretary Binod Kumar on SIR 2026 was held at the CEO’s Office, Kohima.

Kumar also reviewed the progress of the SIR exercise in Kohima district on August 20, urging officials to take the exercise seriously and give their best, stating that it would have a “generational impact” on the State and the country.

He directed officials to ensure that distribution and collection of EFs are completed well in advance and advised EROs and AEROs to visit the field and address issues in areas where mapping remains low.

What is Enumeration Form?
According to an Election Department advisory, the EF is a partially pre-printed form for each voter and collects information relating to the elector and relatives, details of the elector in the electoral roll of the last SIR/Intensive Revision

Details of relatives, including parents or grandparents, as recorded in the last SIR/Intensive Revision are also asked if the elector was not enrolled in the last SIR, it said.

Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will visit every household to distribute the pre-printed forms and will also collect the duly filled-in forms during their visits.

The distribution and collection period is August 16 to September 14.

The department has advised electors to refer to the 2005 E-Roll for Nagaland while filling the EF. Electors who were enrolled in another State during the last SIR are required to refer to the electoral roll of the year of the last Intensive Revision/SIR of their respective States.

Information on the previous Intensive Revision can be accessed through the Election Commission of India voter database and the CEO Nagaland portal. Electors can also book a call with their BLO through the ECINET App or contact the BLO using the number provided in the EF.

For assistance, the advisory lists 1950 as the helpline number and 8798881397 / 8794607805 as help desk numbers.

Any elector refusing or failing to submit a duly filled EF will be removed from the draft e-roll, the advisory stressed.
