Mokokchung, April 14 (MExN): A workshop under the TEJAS (Transforming Entrepreneurial Journeys Across State & Districts) initiative was conducted at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall, Kiphire, on April 14, aimed at promoting inclusive entrepreneurship and strengthening grassroots innovation.
The workshop was organised by Startup India under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, in collaboration with the Department of Industries and Commerce, Nagaland, and the District Administration.
The workshop saw participation from over 60 students, startups, and aspiring entrepreneurs. Sessions focused on various aspects of the entrepreneurial journey, including ideation, access to government schemes, funding opportunities, market linkages, and sector-specific innovation pathways, informed the State DIPR.
Participants were also introduced to key initiatives under Startup India, including DPIIT recognition, incubation support, and access to national platforms, it said.
The programme was attended by Kato T Aomi, Extra Assistant Commissioner, Kiphire; Y Intsangu Sangtam, General Manager, DIC Kiphire; and Nongsheba Lamliu, Functional Manager, DIC Kiphire.
Sessions were conducted by Ikheshe Kahoto, Assistant Director, Department of Industries and Commerce; Ravi Verhwani and Ritwik Malhotra from Startup India, DPIIT; and Ishdeep Singh, DPIIT, who spoke on the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative.
Representatives from key ecosystem partners, including Y Esther Francis of Manipur International University, Longtili C Sangtam of Kiphire Mart, and Rishav Sethi of NITI Incubation Centre, also participated.
The initiative aligns with the Government’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat@2047, aiming to build a robust and inclusive startup ecosystem across the country.
As per the State DIPR, the TEJAS initiative is part of a nationwide effort to identify, nurture, and support aspiring entrepreneurs, startups, and students from non-metro regions by facilitating access to resources, mentorship, and institutional support for building scalable ventures.
It is being implemented across 132 districts, with a focus on capacity building, ecosystem development, and expanding entrepreneurial opportunities.
