A novel initiative, “One Family, One Project, One Family, One Entrepreneur and One Family, One Prayer Time,” under the banner of “The Green Village Link,” was formally launched today at Phusachodu village in Phek district. The launch was attended by Horticulture & Women Resource Development Minister Salhoutuonuo Kruse, CAWD & Taxes Advisor Kudecho Khamo, New & Renewable Energy & NSMA Advisor Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe, and MLA Dr Sukhato A. Sema.
The initiative, envisioned by Kudecho Khamo, aims at empowering individuals, uplifting families, strengthening communities, and enriching futures. “We envision every household taking ownership of at least one productive project, using our natural resources wisely, nurturing a culture of entrepreneurship from within our families, and strengthening our bonds through daily prayer,” Khamo said. He added that the initiative is a journey to nurture self-reliance, dignity of work, and a deeper trust in God’s guidance.
Khamo further expressed his desire to connect local products to global markets and expressed optimism that the initiative will help bring a better life and a brighter future. Through “The Green Village Link,” the initiative aims to cultivate entrepreneurship, promote sustainable farming practices, and drive a holistic approach for future generations.
The programme was dedicated by Rev Dr Chekrovei Cho-o, Executive Secretary, Chakhesang Baptist Church Council. The launch of “One Family, One Project,” “One Family, One Entrepreneur,” and “One Family, One Prayer Time” was carried out by Salhoutuonuo Kruse, Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe, and Rev Dr Vevo Phesao, President CBCC, respectively.
The dedication of “The Green Village Link” was also marked by an exhibition and sales under the banner of “The Village Fair 2025,” inaugurated with a prayer by Mulukhoyi Murao, Associate Pastor, Phusachodu Baptist Church.
In her address as special guest, Salhoutuonuo Kruse said, “This is an opportunity to strengthen our local economy, encourage local crafts, and inspire the younger generation to take pride in their heritage.” She assured that the state government, under Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio, is committed to supporting rural development.
“To develop the rural populace, the government has initiated various programmes aimed at food security, poverty alleviation, rural infrastructure, technology dissemination in agriculture, natural resource management, and inclusive development with focus on women, youth, and tribal communities in Nagaland’s rural areas,” she said.
Speaking on the occasion, Nyuthe stressed the need to take up entrepreneurship and venture into self-employment, as opportunities in government service have reached saturation.
