Jalukie, March 4 (MExN): The District Level Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament (VBYP) 2026 for Peren district was held on February 28 at St Xavier College, Jalukie, bringing together 22 student participants for deliberations on democratic values and constitutional responsibility.
Participants from Peren Government Colleges and St Xavier College engaged in discussions centred on the theme, “50 years of Emergency: Lessons for Indian Democracy.”
The theme encouraged reflection on a significant phase in India’s political history and its implications for democratic principles, constitutional safeguards and civic responsibility, informed a press release issued by the college.
Following the jury’s assessment, five participants were selected to represent Peren district at the State Level Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament.
The programme was organised by the NSS Unit of St Xavier College with the support of the College Authority, under the guidance of Dr Fr Francis S Cheerangal, Principal, and Adani Siba, NSS Nodal Officer, in association with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and My Bharat, the release added.
