In a special celebration of art, culture and partnership, Mia by Tanishq, in partnership with the Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA), Government of Nagaland, presented a one-of-a-kind Bespoke Golden Brooch inspired by the Hornbill to Theja Rio.
Thoughtfully designed as a tribute to Nagaland’s rich cultural identity, the bespoke brooch features an intricate Hornbill motif, symbolising the spirit, heritage and distinctive cultural character of the state.
Elegantly inscribed on the reverse is ANGH, adding a personal and contemporary dimension to the piece while connecting the design to Nagaland’s evolving creative identity.
The Hornbill holds a particularly significant place in Nagaland’s cultural landscape and has become synonymous with the state’s identity as the “Land of Festivals.” The bird also lends its name to the internationally recognised Hornbill Festival, which brings together the diverse traditions, music, arts and contemporary creative expressions of Nagaland.
The bespoke piece was presented by Philip Andre Vianna, Regional Business Manager – Mia by Tanishq (East Region), as a gesture of appreciation and in recognition of Mia by Tanishq’s valued partnership with Nagaland.
The collaboration between Mia by Tanishq and TaFMA reflects a shared appreciation for creativity, craftsmanship, and the growing visibility of Naga talent and culture.
Nagaland’s creative ecosystem has increasingly gained platforms beyond the state, with music, fashion, design, craft, and contemporary art becoming key avenues for cultural storytelling.
The specially commissioned brooch embodies this vision, blending traditional inspiration with contemporary design. Drawing from the Hornbill and presenting it through a modern aesthetic, the piece reflects the continuing evolution of Nagaland’s cultural narrative.
For Mia by Tanishq, the gesture symbolizes its association with Nagaland and its commitment to collaborations that celebrate individuality, creativity, and cultural expression.
For TaFMA, the partnership demonstrates how collaborations between the creative sector and leading brands can create meaningful platforms to showcase Nagaland’s identity and talent.
The brooch is more than a jewellery piece—it represents a shared appreciation for culture, creativity, craftsmanship, and partnership, bringing together a celebrated Indian jewellery brand and Nagaland’s growing creative ecosystem.
