Cautions NPGs against initiating conflict or engaging in violence within its jurisdiction

Dimapur, June 5 (MExN): The Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) on June 5 has urged for peaceful resolution of “growing discord” within GPRN/NSCN’ and further cautioned against initiating conflict or engaging in violence within its jurisdiction.

To this end, a unanimous resolution passed during a crucial meeting of the WSH along with all its frontal organisations and advisors on June 5 cautioned that any Naga Political Groups (NPGs) “found to be initiating conflict or engaging in violence within the jurisdiction of Western Sumi would face severe consequences.

This consequences could include complete non-cooperation and blacklisting, stated a press release from the WSH.  The Western Sumi area includes Dimapur, Niuland, and Chumukedima.

As per the WSH, the main agenda of June 5 meeting at WSH Hiyam in Chekiye Village “was to address the growing discord within the GPRN/NSCN, Khehoi Camp, which was causing widespread concern among the Nagas.”

At the meeting members expressed “deep worry over the possibility of the situation escalating into violence among the Nagas if immediate action was not taken to resolve the rift,” it said.

The meeting further emphasised the importance of unity among all Naga groups and urged all parties to prioritise the well-being of the Naga people above all else, it added.

Accordingly, the WSH stated that it was crucial for all parties to come together in cooperation and with respect to find a “peaceful resolution instead of further dividing and forming factions.”

It also called upon all stakeholders to work together to prevent any discord and violence.

The WSH also reaffirmed its dedication to promoting peace, unity, and solidarity within the Naga community and stressed the need for all parties to work towards a harmonious resolution for the greater good of the Naga people.
